After breakfast, we depart for Turkey's modern capital, Ankara. Here, we will pay our respects at the solemn and impressive Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of the Republic's founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Following this poignant visit, we begin our journey towards the magical region of Cappadocia. Today is dedicated to exploring the surreal wonders of Cappadocia. We will traverse its famous valleys, filled with unique "fairy chimney" rock formations and ancient rock-cut churches. We have a scenic drive today from Cappadocia to Pamukkale, tracing the steps of ancient traders. Our journey includes stops at: Sultanhanı Caravanserai: A majestic 13th-century Seljuk inn that once sheltered merchants and their camels on the Silk Road. Mevlana Museum in Konya: The spiritual center of the Whirling Dervishes, offering a deeply cultural and historical insight. We arrive in Pamukkale in time for a magical experience: visiting the ancient city of Hierapolis at sunset.
This morning, adventurous souls can opt for a hot air balloon flight or paragliding over the Pamukkale valley for a different perspective. Afterwards, we'll visit a local store specializing in the region's famous textile and cotton products—a perfect opportunity for souvenir shopping. We then continue to Turkey's magnificent Aegean coast to explore one of the best-preserved classical cities in the world: Ephesus Ancient City: Walk through its marble streets
After breakfast, we visit a local leather goods center in Selçuk for a fascinating fashion show and shopping opportunity. We then journey north to Bursa, the first major capital of the Ottoman Empire. Here, we will explore its rich heritage: Ulu Cami (The Grand Mosque): A stunning example of early Ottoman architecture. Koza Han (The Silk Bazaar): A beautiful historical caravanserai at the heart of Bursa's silk trade.
On our final day, we make a stop at a local shop in Bursa to pick up some of its famous delicacies like Turkish delight (lokum), olive oil, and candied chestnuts. We then return to Istanbul for some last-minute exploration at either the Grand Bazaar or the Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and scents.
